For the 1st video they did very good describing the main character and having the actor follow the narrator word for word. They had a good use of props as well and it made it easier to follow with the way they performed this poem. They emphasized this poem by making it easy to think of the setting of the poem and what she is doing in the poem. They made a good visual representation of the poem. This makes me think of the tone of the poem differently by facial expressions and what she does during the performance.This performance was a good way too show the poem and made the poem easier to understand. Also having a narrator and the main character instead of two characters was smart, having the actor follow the narrator was an easy way for the people watching to follow along with what’s going on in the poem. The 6th video was a good performance especially since it was easier to follow having 3 actors since there is 3 needed people in the poem. They emphasized the part in the poem where they kick the black man out of the room and when he stood up for himself. They emphasized those parts because they were the biggest parts in the poem and what the whole poem is about. A couple things that made me think differently about the poem is the reaction from the person having company over because in the story it doesn’t sound as agressive as they make it in the performance. Another part in the poem that made me think different was when he walked away after the first time he couldn’t sit at the table. He walked away and laughed but in the performance he walked away mad. One thing this performance accomplished when bringing the poem to stage is showing how each person felt during this and the emotions showed because in the poem it’s hard to tell what emotion the poem is presenting.
