3/4/20
The play Mamma Mia was performed on 2/29/20 in the black box theatre, directed by Ms.Guarino and the main characters Donna and Sophie were performed by Elena Parkerson and Audra Foti. This play was about a young girl the age of 20 named Sophie who was getting married to a guy named Sky. The day before her wedding she thinks to herself and wondered why she could’nt have her dad come she has never met her dad. She finds who the possibilities were for her dad and invited them all to her wedding. She eventually told her mom about it which caused problems because her mom never told her anything about it. To finalize she got married and so did her mom to Sam one of the dads of Sophie.
During the play they were very good at keeping the audience in it by either being funny or causing drama throughout the play and were very good at projecting there voice and showing how the character was feeling about a certain situation. It was easy to tell which characters were the main characters because they had the most parts and were usually the leads in the songs. Lighting and sounds were all good and the sounds went with what was going on in the scene. The performance overall everyone did well and the musical part was really good and acting wise everyone did good.
One moment that stood out to me was when she found three fathers and tried to hide them from her mom. It was very risky and kept me interested during the play wondering what the mom was gonna think. This stood out to me because it was intersting and kept me into the play and wondering what would happen next and so did most of the audience. Sophie played by Audra Foti I think was the best actor she played the role very well. She acted just like the character acted and was a good fit for a main character. She felt the emotions the character felt in certain scenes for example she was confused and curious thinking of who her dad is. There were many good actors but she stood out the most and played her character very well.
In my opinion the play was really good and performed really well. Each actor did there part in the show and the singing was really good as well. I thought it was a really good play to do and it kept me interested throughout the whole show. There was a lot of suspense and a lot of funny moments. The rest of the audience seemed to enjoy it as well. To conclude the play was performed very well and everyone seemed to enjoy it.
