in class writing 9/24/19

One quote in this poem I really liked was "have a place and a time to sit with your thoughts." This means to me that you should always have a time for thinking about stuff going on in your mind a time to take your mind off of things. I like this quote because it stood out to me the most and it was a quote that I related to. Another quote I liked is "love your work enjoy your play remember there is little lasting joy in things done for gold or fame." This means that enjoy what you do becuase mostly people do it for fame or money instead of loving what they do. I like this quote because I thought it put out a good message of enjoying what you do in life instead of doing it for one reason.

Daylin Ms.Guarino IB Lit 3/4/20 The play Mamma Mia was performed on 2/29/20 in the black box theatre, directed by Ms.Guarino and the main characters Donna and Sophie were performed by Elena Parkerson and Audra Foti. This play was about a young girl the age of 20 named Sophie who was getting married to a guy named Sky. The day before her wedding she thinks to herself and wondered why she could’nt have her dad come she has never met her dad. She finds who the possibilities were for her dad and invited them all to her wedding. She eventually told her mom about it which caused problems because her mom never told her anything about it. It is about a family that's young who lives in Chicago and are struggling to afford things. They received money for insurance and they all have different ideas of what to spend it on. The mom wants to buy a house the son wants to invest in a liquor store.   He believes that the investment will solve the family’s financial problems forever. Walter’s wife, Ruth, agrees with Mama, however, and hopes that she and Walter can provide more space and opportunity for their son, Travis. Finally, Beneatha, Walter’s sister and Mama’s daughter, wants to use the money for her medical school tuition. She also wishes that her family members were not so interested in joining the white world. Beneatha instead tries to find her identity by looking back to the past and to Africa.

 The hardest part was memorizing but when I started it got easier and I started to remember my lines. The easiest part was after me saying the first line because it all came to me. How at the end we used 3 different languages that was interesting.
